SKYE, our AZTRAZAR-bred female from champion parents, accumulated 21 championship points in as many shows. To meet the aim of quality and not quantity, through a selective process, HECTOR, currently at Stud, was imported from Czech Republic from a line of 12 Champions and Grand-Champions out of a family tree of 14 parents.

SKYE

SKYE (our brood-female) was bred by Irma du Plooy, owner of the locally based Aztrazar Kennels. She was born from Champion “Paint a Picture Jessie” and Champion “Legend Zoro”. The male bloodline originates from Hungary, Central Europe, and is characterised by strong and muscular dogs weighing up to 40kg. The female bloodline (Jessie) originates from Sweden with champion dogs going back to the 3rd and 4th generation dogs.

Skye is KUSA registered as “Helen of Troy”) and was born on 1 June 2022. She currently holds 17 championship points and aims to get KUSA champion-status during 2023. She was recently bred to HECTOR and gave birth to her first litter of nine beautiful and healthy puppies.

She has a lovable character and are loyal and dedicated to all animals and humans that are part of her family. Loves to show, energetic, eager to please, love her humans, very protective, mistrust strangers, motherly, loves attention, and is the true matriarch of our pack “She is my baby, my cuddle-buddy, part of my sole, I love you with all my heart”.

HECTOR

HECTOR (our breeding-male) was imported from the Czech Republic and bred by the highly reputable breeder Katka Holkova (Ohnivy Pahorek Kennels). He was born from multiple champion and Czech grand-champion, “Maserati Elite Team” bred to “Louis Vuiton Du Temple Gaia” junior champion and title holder to nine show titles.

Hector is KUSA registered as “Fear Prince of Troy” and was born on 1 September 2021. He currently holds twelve championship points as junior dog and are aiming for only one point as an adult dog to acquire the sort-after title of Champion. He recently bred with SKYE, who gave birth to her first litter of nine beautiful and healthy puppies.

His character can be best described as very loyal, energetic, highly intelligent, easy to train, not noisy, and an athlete extraordinaire. He is very tolerant and placid towards children and other animals. However, being the alfa male, he shows occasional dislike to foreign dogs not part of his pack.

He is our free-spirited boy, sleeps inside the house, in the main bedroom, next to the bed, or on the sofa in the living room. “He follows me like a shadow and brought new meaning to my life.”

Open Shows

These are shows that can be entered on the day. Open shows are usually held over 1 days and frequently attract an entry of about 300-400 dogs. Classes are held for each individual breed, there are also mixed classes for breeds which do not have their own separate classes (these are usually the rarer/less numerically strong breeds) This is a great way to get started and is how we started. Show goers are all very Helpful and will assist you to learn the skill required to show your dog.


Championship Shows

These are the biggest shows. They attract and entry of between 10-12,000 dogs and must be entered 5-7 weeks in advance. They are normally held over 3 or 4 days and include classes for most kennel club recognised breeds.

Entering your dog for champion and open shows

A dog must be a minimum of 12 Weeks of age in order to enter a show. Any dog that has been spayed or neutered may be shown subject to permission from the Kennel Club, they are then entered as per normal and compete alongside all other dogs. Owners of dogs which have had any type of surgery must apply to the Kennel club for permission to show…the KC will then make a decision as to whether the dog may be shown or not depending on the surgery performed.
In order to enter a show, you must first obtain a show schedule, these are available on sites and explain and list all available classes at the show in question, they can be obtained through the show secretary.
Once you have obtained a schedule look through it and find which classes your dog is eligible for. Each breed will have a set of classes and all the classes are explained in the schedule, for example ‘puppy’ is for dogs between the ages of 6 and 12 months and Junior is for dogs up to the age of 18 months. Other classes are defined by the number of wins a dog has previously achieved while attending other shows. Having decided in which classes you wish to enter your dog fill in the form and send it along with your payment to the address as instructed.


Training your dog for shows

In order for you and your dog to learn show techniques you may find it helpful to attend a local ring craft class. Here you will be shown how to stand and move your dog and what else is expected of you.

The temperaments of our breeding dogs are of utmost importance to us. We also sell pups for showing but because every household have different needs, we evaluate each pup and try and match it to your circumstances. Our puppies are bred to be gentle, playful, tolerant, loyal, and protective towards its family and especially good with children. All our puppies are registered, inoculated, dewormed and micro-chipped. LITTER A, born 14 April 2023, including 5 boys and 4 girls are now available to approved homes.
